‍ Jonathan Diaz Garcia, known professionally as Jon Digarci, is a Puerto Rican pianist, composer, producer, and singer-songwriter whose artistic journey is defined by perseverance, reinvention, faith, and a lifelong connection to music. Born in San Juan and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Jon has spent more than two decades developing a musical voice that bridges classical tradition, contemporary composition, cinematic emotion, and modern music production.

Today, however, one instrument stands at the center of his artistic life: the piano.

Jon’s highest artistic priority is to continue developing as a serious pianist and composer, building the technique, repertoire, musicianship, and performance experience necessary to establish his own identity at the piano. After a musical path that has taken many unexpected turns, his return to classical piano represents much more than another chapter in his career—it is a return to a calling that began many years ago.

His musical journey started early. After first discovering music through electric guitar and contemporary styles, Jon developed a profound connection with classical piano and pursued formal musical studies at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. He later continued his education at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production from Full Sail University, expanding his knowledge of composition, recording, production, arranging, and contemporary music.

After years devoted largely to songwriting and music production, Jon eventually found his way back to the piano with a new level of maturity and determination. He is currently studying under Steinway Artist, concert pianist, conductor, and educator Boris Cepeda at the European Piano Academy of Atlanta. Through Cepeda, Jon studies within a remarkable pedagogical tradition whose piano lineage traces back through Iliev, Agosti, Busoni, Liszt, Czerny, and ultimately Ludwig van Beethoven.

For Jon, that connection carries a special meaning. It links his present-day studies to centuries of pianistic tradition while reminding him that the goal is not simply to reproduce the past, but to absorb its lessons and eventually develop a voice of his own.

His current work includes the study and refinement of major classical repertoire while continuing to strengthen his technique, interpretation, control, and musical expression. At the same time, he is building a versatile performance repertoire with the immediate goal of beginning to perform professionally at venues, private events, weddings, and other opportunities in and around his local community in Georgia. These performances represent the first practical steps toward a larger ambition: establishing himself as a performing pianist and gradually expanding the scope of his artistic career.

Composition will also play an increasingly important role in that future.

Jon is developing Ghost of the Conservatoire, an original piano project inspired by his own musical and personal journey. Rather than an album centered on interpretations of existing classical masterpieces, the project is being envisioned around Jon’s own compositions, allowing him to bring together his classical development, decades of experience in contemporary music, cinematic instincts, production background, personal history, and faith into an individual musical language.

The title itself reflects a deeply personal story. Years after stepping away from the path he once began at the conservatory, Jon has returned to the piano determined to reclaim an important part of himself and transform that unfinished chapter into something new. Ghost of the Conservatoire represents that return—not as an attempt to recreate the person he once was, but as the emergence of the artist he has become.

Beyond the piano, Jon brings more than two decades of experience as a composer, songwriter, and music producer. He has worked across genres including pop, EDM, Latin and urban music, rock, orchestral and cinematic music, hip-hop, reggae, and instrumental composition. That versatility remains an important part of his creative identity and gives him a musical perspective that extends far beyond the traditional boundaries of classical piano.

His secondary professional focus is sync music licensing, where he maintains and develops a catalog of production-ready music for film, television, sports, advertising, trailers, video games, and digital media. His experience as a producer allows him to combine musical storytelling with contemporary production techniques, creating music designed to enhance visual narratives and emotional moments. While sync remains an important avenue for his work and career, his primary long-term artistic direction is now firmly centered on piano performance and original composition.

Behind that musical journey is also a story of resilience.

Jon has lived through years of anxiety, depression, uncertainty, personal setbacks, and periods in which the future he once imagined for himself seemed increasingly distant. Music remained one of the constants throughout those years, even as his relationship with it changed. His faith in God has also become an increasingly important source of strength, perspective, hope, and purpose.

Rather than viewing those lost or difficult years simply as time that cannot be recovered, Jon now seeks to transform them into part of the meaning behind his work.

His journey back to the piano is therefore not merely a career decision. It is personal.

It is the continuation of a story that began decades ago, was interrupted, took unexpected roads through production, songwriting, different musical worlds, and difficult seasons of life—and eventually found its way back to the instrument that had never completely left him.

As Jon Digarci, he is now bringing those experiences together: the discipline of classical piano, the imagination of a composer, the instincts of a modern producer, and the perspective of someone who understands how dramatically a life can change course.

His goal is to become the strongest pianist and composer he can be, create music that carries genuine emotional meaning, perform for audiences beginning in his own community and beyond, and ultimately build a body of original work that can outlive the circumstances from which it was born.

For Jon, this new chapter is not about starting over.

It is about finally continuing what was left unfinished.
